Mike Sabin

 

Mike is the president of Bay State Advisors, Inc., a firm that specializes in employee management solutions and "employment law" risk management. Various programs, both all-inclusive and functionally specific, are offered covering all areas of the employment cycle from pre-employment to unemployment cost control. Bay State Advisors services are designed to improve "people management" results and reduce employment risks for their clients.

Prior to founding Bay State Advisors in 1989, Mike spent 17 years with a national consulting firm specializing in unemployment cost control and related risk management programs. As the Northeast Regional Vice President he was responsible for all company operations in the northeast including design and implementation of risk management services, customer satisfaction, marketing and administrative operations. Previously, Mike held positions in human resources and related fields in both the manufacturing and service sectors.

During his career Mike has consulted with over 2,000 businesses, including Fortune 500 companies such as Polaroid, Gillette, Honeywell and TRW. His personal and managerial efforts have resulted in improved employee relations programs, overall employment risk reduction as well as over three-quarters of a billion dollars in unemployment tax savings for these firms. In addition, he has an extensive supervisory training background, having provided guidance to over 4,000 supervisory personnel.

Mike holds a degree in business administration and is the author of many articles regarding human resource activities and unemployment cost control. He is an active participant in the legislative arena having drafted and testified on behalf of employment related legislation favorable to employers. Mike is the Unemployment Compensation Consultant to the Associated Industries of Massachusetts and former president of the MetroWest Human Resource Management Association. He is also a member of the Massachusetts Council of Chambers of Commerce steering committee and the Society for Human Resource Management State Council where he fills the position of State Legislative Affairs Director.
