The “Grand Bargain” law passed this year and provides for an increased minimum wage and a new paid family and medical leave program. Find out what you need to know to prepare for these changes in 2019.

Speaking of illness, we will then discuss the sticky issues that medical leaves of absence present for all employers. Which laws apply to your workplace, when do you have to provide leaves of absence and how long do they need to be? We will answer all of these questions and any others you’d like to ask.

SPEAKER BIO:

Tracy Thomas Boland is a partner with Morgan, Brown & Joy. Tracy counsels her clients on the full range of employment law issues from hiring to firing including equal employment opportunities, performance management, investigations, wage and hour issues, leaves of absence and the accommodations process, and reductions in force. Tracy also drafts and revises employee handbooks, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, employment agreements and severance and settlement agreements. 

Tracy is a graduate of the University of Vermont (B.A., 1994) and New England School of Law (J.D., cum laude, 1997). Tracy served as a judicial law clerk with the Massachusetts Superior Court and Massachusetts Probate and Family Court. Tracy is a member of the bars of Massachusetts, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the First Circuit Court of Appeals.
