In this engaging presentation by Attorney Erica E. Flores, you’ll learn how to conduct an effective and defensible workplace investigation from start to finish, including how to recognize when you need to conduct an investigation, safe and effective interview techniques, where you should be looking for additional evidence, how to assess the credibility of witnesses, and how to properly document your investigative findings.
Erica joined Skoler, Abbott & Presser in 2013. Erica has successfully defended employers in single-plaintiff and class action litigation involving claims of discrimination, harassment and retaliation, wage and hour violations, contract disputes, and other employment issues. Erica also regularly advises clients with respect to compliance challenges, personnel policies and day-to-day employment issues, and provides custom training programs and materials to clients on a variety of important topics, including sexual harassment, paid and unpaid leave, ADA accommodations, and drugs and alcohol in the workplace. She is a regular contributor to the Massachusetts Employment Law Letter, and a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Hampden County Bar Association. Erica is also the First Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts.
Prior to joining Skoler Abbott, Erica spent seven years working for prominent international law firms in New York City and Philadelphia and served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Russell M. Nigro of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. She received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in Philadelphia, where she was the Production Editor of the Journal of Constitutional Law, provided volunteer legal services to the Women’s Law Project and Equality Forum, and interned for the Honorable Glynnis D. Hill of the Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas. Before attending Penn Law, Erica worked as a reporter for a daily newspaper in Longmont, Colorado. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she was the captain of the women’s rugby team.
